Breakfast at Parkview is one of the delights of guests' stays. Donna, a home economist, is always searching for new and interesting recipes to use in the breakfast menus. The menus change with the seasons and are tailored to guests. In the spring, menus may include rhubarb from the garden, Strawberry French Toast, or Morel mushrooms if Tom has been successful finding them! Summer menus may include blueberries, raspberries, and cherries locally grown and picked by the Tom & Donna. In the fall and winter, cranberries, pumpkin, and apples are commonly used. Breakfast includes juice, seasonal fruit, a main egg dish or pancakes, waffles, or French toast, and meat. Donna tries to prepare foods one wouldn't usually prepare for one's self. Local products are used as much as possible. Coffee is from Berres Brothers in Watertown, WI. Sausage is made at the local grocery store. Donna grows vegetables and herbs in her gardens that are used in many breakfasts. The dining room was redecorated using the creative talents of Donna's sister. Together they wallpapered and sponge-painted the walls for a striking effect. The real treasure of the room is the large, built-in oak buffet. One might even see some of Reedsburg's black squirrels eating at their feeder while you are enjoying breakfast and conversation at the dining room table.
